Dr. Grunwaldt – the only Harvard Trained, Board Certified Plastic Surgeon in our area. A little background.
First of all Dr. Grunwaldt attended Harvard. (Only 5 out of 100 applicants are accepted.)
Dr. Lorelei Grunwaldt, also known as Dr. Lorelei Grunwaldt Falbo, is a Board Certified Plastic Surgeon, but she is also Board Certified in General Surgery. That means that after college and after medical school she devoted five years of surgical training and then passed extremely rigorous testing ( two days of testing) to achieve her certification. Dr. Lorelei then proceeded to two years of surgical training in plastic surgery as well as passing those challenging exams. (These exams cover two days of written, verbal and surgical testing.)
She then served a one year prestigious Fellowship at UPMC for more training in plastic surgery.
Add that up and that is sixteen years of training after graduating high school.
Dr. Grunwaldt has been named in Best Doctors, by Pittsburgh Magazine numerous times.
During her thirteen years at UPMC as both leading surgeon and Associate Clinical Professor, she trained numerous other budding plastic surgeons.
The only Plastic Surgeon in Pittsburgh who is an expert in both pediatrics and adults in our area.
She is probably most famous for reattaching a 12 year old boy’s right arm, which was severed at the shoulder in a farming accident in 2015. Yes, his arm now works. You can view one of the news videos by clicking here.
In 2018, out of 8,000 plastic surgeons in the United States, Dr. Grunwaldt and her patient received a national award from the American Society of Plastic Surgeons at a conference of all plastic surgeons.
That is why Dr. Grunwaldt has patients that regularly travel from New York, Georgia and New Jersey for her expertise. And now she is in your backyard.
In 2019 the American Society of Plastic Surgeons flew to Pittsburgh to complete an interview with her on her vast expertise in helping men with plastic surgery.
As an artist (she paints with oils), as well as a plastic surgeon, Dr. Lorelei’s mission, is to enhance other’s lives through improving their self-esteem and body image.
Of all of her surgical gifts, her artistic breast sculpting (augmentations/lifts) and body contouring (liposuction) are probably what she is best known for.
